Real Madrid couldn’t do better than a 1-0 loss against Levante this Saturday and are now two points behind Barcelona in the table. Furthermore, Los Blancos will face a tough week ahead, hosting Manchester City and Barcelona in just three days, with the season on the line.
Coach Zinedine Zidane talked to the press after the game and was asked about Hazard’s foot injury. The Belgian star was forced to leave the game and Zidane revealed that his injury could be related to the one which kept him out of the team for three months.
“We don’t have good feelings about it, it is a knock in the same place where he suffered his previous injury and it doesn’t look good. We’ll see what happens with him,” said the coach when asked about whether Hazard will be ready to face City and Barça.
Real Madrid have lost their three-point lead over Barcelona in just two weeks. Zidane shared his thoughts on why that happened.
“We lost five points in two games, it is what it is. We struggled converting chances, our first half was good, we did good things and we missed a goal. Then they created one good chance and scored a goal. It hurts because I don’t think we deserved this today, but we have to bounce back, acknowledge what happened and think about our next two games. Our players gave their all. It’s a bad moment for us right now,” explained the Frenchman.
Zidane isn’t worried, though.
“I’m not worried, this is football. We had good moments this season and we can’t be down because of these two games. We have to think we can still pull this off with good energy. This is football,” he said.
Real Madrid’s season will be on the line next week. Los Blancos are facing Manchester City and Barcelona and must bounce back if they want to compete for titles this campaign.
“We know what’s at stake. We have to be ready,” concluded Zidane.
