Real Madrid have published their squad list for Wednesday’s match against Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League’s Round of 16.
REAL MADRID SQUAD:
Goalkeepers: Courtois, Areola and Altube.
Defenders: Carvajal, Militão, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo and Mendy.
Midfielders: Kroos, Modric, Casemiro, Valverde and Isco.
Forwards: Benzema, Bale, Lucas Vázquez, Jović and Vinicius Jr.
Luka Jovic and Gareth Bale are both back with the team after missing the past game against Levante. Bale has a chance to feature in the starting lineup but coach Zinedine Zidane could also choose to go with a 4-5-1 lineup with Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Valverde and Isco in the midfield and Benzema leading the offense.
Real Madrid have played well with a 4-4-2 this season but Vinicius has been making a bigger impact than Bale lately and his fit alongside Benzema in that formation isn’t all that great, so it will be interesting to see what Zidane does with his lineup.
