Real Madrid host Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League’s Round of 16. This could be a season-defining moment for Los Blancos, especially after losing their lead in La Liga table because of their last two games against Celta de Vigo and Levante. A win against City would not only be a statement well made, it would also give the team so much confidence and momentum ahead of Sunday’s decisive El Clasico against Barcelona.

Manchester City have all but given up on their chances to win the Premier League, which allows them to focus entirely on their Champions League campaign, even more so now that they know they won’t play in the European competition for the next two seasons because of a ban handed by UEFA.

City have all the tools to make it tough for Madrid while Los Blancos have more experience. This is set to be a very entertaining tie and Zidane’s men must do their very best to try to keep a clean sheet tonight.

Champions League football at its best.
