Here’s our quick reaction to Tacon’s loss to Deportivo today. Full match report coming later.
On a windy afternoon in Madrid, CD Tacón took on fourth place Deportivo La Coruña for their 22nd game of the season.
The first half was relatively uneventful, but a good display of how CD Tacón’s defense has begun to improve as the season has gone along. While we came out early with an attempt on goal by Kosovare Asllani within the first two minutes of the game, it wasn’t until the 40th minute that Aurelie Kaci was able to put something away. Her goal came from the top of the box into the top of the far corner of the net.
The first half ended without any stoppage time. The second half started in a similar manner to the first, but easily became more exciting as it saw Tacón go up by two more by the 80th minute before Deportivo started their comeback. Within the next ten minutes, Deportivo put in four goals to pull ahead and take the three points from CD Tacón. It’s a disappointing loss considering the amount of work put in by Tacón this game. We were clearly the better team at times, but for whatever reason, let the game get completely away from us in the last ten minutes. CD Tacón will have another chance at three points on March 22 when they face Real Betis in Sevilla.
