Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola talked to the press this Wednesday and discussed the Coronavirus outbreak and the potential decision from UEFA to play next week’s games behind closed doors.

“Does football make any sense without the fans? We work for them, if people can’t come to the stadium it doesn’t make sense to play. We’ll do as we’re told, but I wouldn’t like to face Real Madrid or the Premier League teams without the fans,” said Guardiola.

Real Madrid will play Friday’s home match against Eibar behind closed doors, and the same will happen on their next La Liga game against Valencia. UEFA have not made a decision about next week’s Champions League games, but this current week the meeting between Valencia and Atalanta and today’s match between PSG and Dortmund happened behind closed doors.

Football in Spain could be postponed for a while, as La Liga will decide the future of their remaining games this Thursday. UEFA could eventually do more of the same if Coronavirus keeps spreading across Europe.
