Former Real Madrid president Lorenzo Sanz was moved to ICU this Tuesday. Sanz is in serious condition, according to the words of his son and former Real Madrid and Malaga player Fernando Sanz.
“He was taking painkillers for the last eight days, he didn’t want our health system to collapse and refused to go to the hospital until he couldn’t breath,” said Fernando Sanz. ”We don’t know if he’s infected with coronavirus, but it seems likely. He was healthy before he got sick,” he added.
“He’s being taken care of by the best doctors of our public health system, they’re Spain’s pride right now. We have to thank them all with a standing ovation because they’re giving their all there, I hope they can help us and many more families,” explained Sanz.
Sanz is 76 years old and was in charge of Real Madrid from 1995 to 2000, winning two Champions Leagues and one Liga title during his tenure.
