Real Madrid are concerned about the team’s lack of scoring punch all throughout the 2019-2020 season and will go after a striker next summer, according to a report from MARCA. Borussia Dortmund attacker Erling Haaland is the club’s main candidate, per that same report.

Karim Benzema has been Madrid’s only reliable striker this season and the team has relied too much on his efficiency. The French forward has struggled during the last two months of action and Los Blancos haven’t been able to replace his goals. Coach Zinedine Zidane doesn’t trust Mariano and Luka Jovic’s future in the club is questionable, according to the same report from MARCA.

That means that Madrid will have to find a quality striker in the transfer market. Haaland seems to be the perfect player. He’s 19 years old, his €75 million release clause makes him an affordable target and his numbers with Borussia Dortmund and Salzburg have been great this season.

It’s true that Haaland would probably need some time to adapt to La Liga and the pressure of playing for Real Madrid. Still, it would make sense for Los Blancos to secure his signing for €75 million before any other European club makes a move for the young attacker.
