Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur are ready to offer €40 million to sign Brazilian center-back Eder Militao away from Real Madrid next summer, according to a report published from Sky Sports.
Los Blancos spent €50 million to complete the signing of Militao just a year ago but the young defender hasn’t been a relevant player for Real Madrid this season. Still, he’s only 22 years old and has shown potential, so it would be a strange move from Los Blancos to let him leave the club, given that they would also need to sign a quality replacement given Sergio Ramos’ age.
Ultimately, it will all depend on what coach Zinedine Zidane thinks of Militao, though. Has he seen enough during this season and the training sessions? Does he trust him? If the answer is no, Real Madrid could end up accepting the €40 million offer and look elsewhere for Sergio Ramos’ long term replacement.
