Carvajal, Nacho and Isco will miss Real Madrid’s away match against Betis

Real Madrid completed Saturday’s training session without Carvajal, Nacho —flu— and Isco —back spasms—, so Los Blancos will be without those three players when they visit Betis this Sunday. Hazard and Asensio are still recovering from their injuries as well.

This means that Zidane will have a hard time finding a right-back for Sunday’s game. Nacho had been Carvajal’s backup since Odriozola left to join Bayern Munich this winter, so it might be time for Zidane to trust Militao for that spot.

The young defender will have to replace Sergio Ramos when Madrid visit City and needs minutes to improve his confidence and conditioning, so the match against Betis seems to be a good opportunity for him to play and find his groove.

Furthermore, he’s played as a right-back in the past. Zidane could also be tempted to play Lucas Vazquez as a right-back, but Militao will likely be the better option considering that Madrid have relied on their defensive stability to score points this season.
