Real Madrid have told Eder Militao that they will keep him in the club past the upcoming transfer window, according to a report from MARCA. Much has been said about Militao’s future in recent weeks, as Tottenham were reportedly ready to offer €40 million for him, but Los Blancos are not ready to give up on him just a year after spending €50 million to sign him away from Porto.

Militao is only 22 years old and has the potential to become a key player for Real Madrid, even if his last performances for the club have not been impressive. In fact, the Brazilian defender hasn’t played as many minutes as he probably expected when he signed for Madrid, although it was obvious that he was going to be behind both Ramos and Varane in Zidane’s rotation.

Militao will soon have to prove that he’s ready to contribute and make an impact on a regular basis, given that Ramos is 34 years old and already past his prime, something that will force coach Zidane to manage his minutes more carefully in the near future.
