Jesus Vallejo has only transferred to Granada this past January, but has talked up an extended stay after a failed move to Wolves in the Premier League. Euan McTear wrote about Vallejo’s role for Granada back in January for Managing Madrid. Euan’s report indicated that Vallejo would likely continue for another season at Granada and Vallejo has seemed to confirm it via a video conference with fans of Granada:
“I am delighted that they have asked me to stay,” Vallejo said during the video chat.
“I am happy both on a personal and professional level, so why not stay another year at Granada?”
The Madrid loanee also spoke about his desire to see La Liga return as quickly as possible.
”I’m building up enthusiasm for when this happens,” he said.
”It will be the same for everyone, we have to prepare well these days for when the competition resumes.”
A return to Real Madrid in the summer seems unlikely given Vallejo’s performances this season. Another year away from the capital club will give the defender the consistent minutes he desires and the opportunity to prove his true level. If Real Zaragoza ascend to La Liga, then the defender will have a difficult choice to make between his current club, Granada, and his hometown club, Zaragoza. El Desmarque Zaragoza have suggested that, if his hometown club were to be promoted, they would love to secure his services on a loan deal.
