“Borussia still an option for Achraf,” says his agent

The saga continues.

Right after MARCA and Foot Mercato reported that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in right-back Achraf Hakimi, his agent Alejandro Camaño talked to Sky Germany and revealed that the player’s future isn’t set in stone yet.

“Achraf is the world’s greatest right-back alongside Alexander-Arnold. Very big club in Europe want him and of course Real Madrid are one of them. However, Borussia is still an option for him. We will wait and see what happens,” said Camaño.

Real Madrid have the option to bring back Achraf after his loan deal with Dortmund expires next summer. Still, his current contract with Madrid expires in 2021 and that would force Madrid to give him the minutes he wants if they don’t want to lose the young and promising right-back for free a year from now.

Again, it seems quite obvious that Achraf and his agent want to hear from Real Madrid’s plans. Coach Zinedine Zidane will likely want to keep him in the squad next season but that doesn’t mean Achraf is going to get the kind of role he wants, considering that Carvajal has always been a key player for Zidane.

If Achraf really wants to be a starter as soon as next season and is not willing to be patient, it won’t be that easy for Madrid to keep him and extend his contract beyond 2021.
