Gareth Bale is looking to do his part to help combat the Coronavirus. He has sent nearly €500,000 to his hometown of Cardiff to help the NHS staff. His generosity did not end there, as he donated a further €500,000 to the health service in Madrid.
In a video released this morning, Bale thanked the NHS for their hard work. His donation is going directly to the city of Cardiff and the Vale Health University health board.
“I just wanted to make this video to thank everybody in the NHS for all their hard work and sacrifice during this Covid-19 crisis. The University Hospital in Wales holds a special place in my heart. It is where I was born and it’s provided great support to my friends, my family and the wider community. So me and my family would like to show our support. Keep up the good work. You’re doing an amazing job and thank you very much.”
Gareth is currently following protocol in Spain and staying home. There has been no definitive date on when he or the club could return to training, but some reports have suggested that La Liga teams will be able to return to training in the first or second week of March under strict safety procedures.
