Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz has been on Real Madrid’s radar for a while. The Spanish player has been impressive both for Napoli and for the Spanish national team for the last two years and Los Blancos are reportedly interested in his signing.
Fabian’s agent Alvaro Blanco admitted Madrid’s interest in an interview with Canal Sur Radio this Friday night.
“Real Madrid? It’s clear that there are many big clubs who have inquired about him, he’s been playing at a high level for the last three seasons. It’s true that they [Real Madrid] showed their interest, we told Napoli about it but right now he has to be focused on his own team. We’ll see what happens in the summer,” said Blanco.
Fabian Ruiz and Eduardo Camavinga appear to be Real Madrid’s main candidates to upgrade the midfield line, although they are different players. While Camavinga could play as Casemiro’s backup, Ruiz is a pure central midfielder who thrives when he’s closer to the box offensively.
All in all, both players would make a lot of sense for Real Madrid considering Modric’s decline, but it looks like coach Zinedine Zidane and the rest of the board will have a tough decision to make when the transfer market opens.
