Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos talked to Movistar Plus in a brief interview and shared his thoughts about the return of La Liga and Madrid’s own return to training, which happened this Monday.
“I’m dying to compete again, for La Liga to be normal again. We have to be disciplined so that we can get rid of the virus. La Liga will be making the decisions, we have to follow Germany. We like to be with our families but we also need to be flexible,” said Ramos.
The defender all but confirmed that Real Madrid will host their home games at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano in Valdebebas.
“I’d like to play at the Bernabeu but there’s work, what’s important is that we play,” he said when asked about the matter.
The captain believes that the return of football could be helpful for Spain as a whole.
“We will need time, the country needs football as an economic support and the people need it as a distraction,” he said.
Ramos wrapped up the interview by having some words and remembering those who have passed away during this pandemic.
“I want to send a message of support to everyone who has lost a loved one, we’ll get through this and we have to come together,” concluded Ramos.
