Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane decided to pick up the pace in Wednesday’s training session and both Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio completed the practice without an issue, meaning that they have successfully recovered from their injuries.

Madrid’s report from the session indicated that Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz are still training away from the squad. Los Blancos published a medical report saying that Jovic suffers a foot fracture, so the Serbian striker will need time to recover from his injury. However, Mariano should be healthy and ready to train with his teammates but has been working on the gym this whole week.
If Mariano isn’t able to rejoin the squad in the next few weeks, Madrid could struggle early on, given that Karim Benzema would be the team’s only striker with this small training camp under his belt.
These next few weeks will be crucial for the players to gain momentum, conditioning and confidence, so Real Madrid’s coaching staff will need to be careful in order to keep every man fresh.
