Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos talked to TVE in an interview and insisted on his possibility of staying in the Spanish capital past the upcoming transfer window, even if most analysts and reporters expect him to leave because he’s never been on Zidane’s plans.
“I’m a Real Madrid player, every player in the world of football would like to play for Real Madrid. I’m under contract for the next three years and it is the best team to succeed,” said Ceballos.
The midfielder has spent the season on a loan deal with Arsenal but has not become a crucial player for the London-based club. Ceballos will turn 24 years old and looks to be on his way out of Real Madrid.
Still, he’s optimistic about his future and believes that he can still reach his ceiling.
“The best from Dani Ceballos is still to come. I want to establish myself in a team, feel that I am an important player, one of the leaders. That’s what I truly love,” added the midfielder.
Rumors from the Spanish press suggest that Betis could be interested in Ceballos’ return. Considering that Zidane will probably want him gone, expect Real Madrid to accept any offer they get for the Spanish midfielder.
