Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde talked to the team’s TV channel and explained how he’s looking forward to representing the club at an official, competitive game. Valverde has been a pleasant surprise for Madrid fans all throughout the season and will be a crucial member of the squad when La Liga restarts this June.

“We must keep on training hard for the rest of the season and hopefully we will win the league. I’m looking forward to representing this jersey again and showing why we’re here and fighting for the goal of being champions,” said Valverde.

While Los Blancos will compete very hard for the Liga title, it won’t be easy for them to advance to the Champions League Quarterfinals if the European competition finally completes its season. Madrid lost 1-2 to Manchester City and will need a miracle to come back, but Valverde still believes it can be done.

“We have the desire, the desire and the excitement to go back to that game and fight to turn it around in order to qualify. We can never lack drive at this club to go for everything,” he added.

The squad has been training for the last two weeks now and Valverde highlighted the union in the dressing room.

“It’s a pleasure to see my teammates again and to be able to enjoy this beautiful sports city. We really missed sharing talks and training sessions and we really appreciate being able to advance from one phase to another,” concluded Valverde.

The midfielder has become a key player for Zinedine Zidane and the French coach will definitely count on him given how busy Madrid’s schedule will be.
