The Segunda B season was cancelled earlier this month leaving 18-year-old Reinier Jesus in limbo. With the Spanish government giving approval for sport’s teams to work in groups of 14 this week, Zidane will need more players at his disposal to get the best out of his squad. The Frenchman has given the green light and called up the young Brazilian to take part in first team training for the rest of the season.
According to a report from AS, the player was in Valdebebas this morning to pass a second Covid-19 test and as soon as results return, he’ll join training. In his three games for Castilla, Reinier scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist. Despite his quick introduction, Managing Madrid’s Castilla Corner have rated him as the highest potential player in the Castilla squad and were thoroughly impressed after just three matches.
It is unlikely that Reinier Jesus receives any official minutes in La Liga this season, but if injuries mount and the Brazilian impresses in training then his debut could come sooner than expected.
