Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez will miss the team’s match against Eibar —Sunday, 19:30 CEST— with a muscle strain picked up in training this week. Vazquez couldn’t train with his teammates this Saturday and will not be available. Depending on how quickly he recovers, he could also miss Thursday’s match against Valencia.
Therefore, coach Zinedine Zidane will not be able to rely on one of his favorite substitutions. Vazquez has always been a relevant player off the bench and with the new five substitutions rule Zidane will have to look somewhere else if he wants fresh energy on the right wing.
Luckily enough for Los Blancos, there’s plenty of depth in that position. Asensio is back with the team and will need minutes while Bale, Rodrygo, Vinicius and Brahim can also play there, meaning that Madrid should not miss Vazquez all that much.
Nacho and Jovic will also miss the game with injuries while Mariano is questionable after missing most of Real Madrid’s mini training camp.
