After Real Madrid’s win over Eibar on Sunday night, Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, who scored Real Madrid’s second goal of the evening, spoke about the team’s performance, his injury concerns, and the team’s mentality moving forward.
“The three points are great for the group from a morale perspective,” Ramos said. “Now we have to get back to work because the next match is on Thursday and we have to be ready. I picked up a bit of a knock, it’s just a strain. I’m happy to be back and to have got all three points. We’ve got 10 finals to come and we have to try and win the lot”.
It was 24 degrees in Madrid during the match, and Ramos spoke about the importance of having five substitutions during the summer heat:
“Having the extra changes is beneficial for everyone. Because of the extreme temperatures we’re going to face and the stage of the season we’re at, it’s positive for everyone”.
Finally, Real Madrid’s captain spoke about the team’s performance today, and the “10 finals” that remain:
“We felt in good shape. We’ve worked hard in recent weeks to recover some of the form we’ve lost, but the team has gradually started to get back into a rhythm and to play as well as we possibly can”.
“It’s no surprise it wasn’t a wonderful performance and we have things we can improve. Physically the team was fine, you can expect to play with the intensity we showed in the first 45 minutes for the full 90. We dropped off a bit and left more spaces, but we’ll learn from it going into our 10 remaining games”.
