Real Madrid visit Real Sociedad this Sunday in what will be a must-win game for Los Blancos after Barcelona’s draw against Sevilla last night. Zinedine Zidane’s men can retake the lead in La Liga with a win here and while Real Sociedad were a very strong team during the first half of the season, they’ve struggled after the three-month lockdown.
Real Madrid predicted XI: Courtois, Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Mendy, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Valverde, Hazard, Benzema.
Real Sociedad predicted XI: Remiro, Golosabel, Elustondo, Normand, Monreal, Zubeldia, Odegaard, Merino, Portu, Oyarzabal, Isak.
Coach Zinedine Zidane could decide to deploy the same 4-4-2 formation that got a solid win against Valencia, given that there’s no obvious choice for the spot at the right wing. However, that would leave Madrid without a clear replacement for the midfield spots and Valverde isn’t all that comfortable in this formation, so it’s not clear what Zidane will do to control the tempo of the game and stop Odegaard’s playmaking ability.
