Stade Rennais president Nicolas Holveck talked to the press and addressed the future of midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, who appears to be a priority for Real Madrid. While some rumors suggested that Los Blancos wanted to complete the signing of Camavinga this summer, Stade Rennais clinched their presence in the 2020-2021 edition of the Champions League and appear ready to keep the midfielder around for another season.
“We’re all facing a huge financial crisis. When we take a look at the big clubs I’m not sure there will be any big moves made. We have not set a prize for Camavinga but we’ve decided that he will stay with us next season because we’re an ambitious team,” said Holveck.
Camavinga will turn 18 years old next winter and Real Madrid seem to have the edge to sign him in the future. Reports from the French press say that the midfielder wants to play for Madrid, but things could be different a year from now if other big clubs make him an offer.
For now, Real Madrid will have to wait.
