Real Madrid midfielder Oscar Rodriguez, currently playing for Leganes on a loan deal, has received interest to join Villarreal in the next transfer window. Madrid have set €10 million as the asking price for Oscar and Villarreal seem willing to spend that kind of money for the midfielder, according to MARCA.
An important thing to mention here is that Villarreal would only buy 50% of the players’ rights and Madrid would keep an option to buy the player back in case he becomes a candidate to upgrade the squad in the near future.
Other teams like Valencia and Sevilla have also shown interest in the midfielder, but Villarreal seems to be the most likely destination for him after his brilliant performances for Leganes all season long.
Oscar will turn 22 years old this June and it will be interesting to see if he has what it takes to become a consistent midfielder for a better team than Leganes like Villarreal. If he does, it would not be surprising to see Madrid bringing him back in two or three years just for depth purposes.
