Real Madrid have published a medical report on defender Nacho Fernandez, who suffered a thigh injury in training.
Following tests carried out on our player Nacho Fernández by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to his right rectus femoris muscle. His recovery will continue to be assessed.

Nacho will miss at least two weeks with this injury and while he’s not been a relevant player for coach Zidane this season, his versatility to play in multiple positions would’ve been useful for the busy schedule ahead.
Muscle injuries were expected to be a common thing for almost every player after spending the last two months on quarantine. That’s why Zidane will have to efficiently manage the minutes of his players and the five substitutions allowed for the rest of the 2019-2020.
Real Madrid will now need Carvajal to stay healthy, as Nacho would’ve probably been his replacement in case of injury or suspension. Militao can also play in the right-back spot, but Madrid’s depth in the defensive line could be compromised if he’s forced to play there.
