Alvaro Arbeloa’s first foray into coaching will be with Real Madrid’s Infantil A side (U14). The appointment is one of Manu Fernandez first moves as the new head of academy football for Real Madrid.

The team, which is made up of players born in the year 2007, is said to be very talented. Among those in the squad, is the late Jose Antonio Reyes’ son. Reyes JR is one of the stars of the team and a prolific goal-scorer having led the squad with four goals in the final of the La Liga Promesas tournament.

Academy Director, Manu Fernandez, next priority will be finding coaches to fill the void at the Juvenil A (U19) and Juvenil B (U18) levels. The roles were previously held by Manu Fernandez himself and Dani Poyatos, who is expected join Panathinakos.

As Arbeloa prepares for his new role, he will soon join a long list of former players to form as part of Real Madrid’s coaching staff at the youth levels. In recent years the list has included Zinedine Zidane, Santiago Solari, Roberto Carlos, Raul Gonzalez, Jose Maria Guti, and Xabi Alonso.
