Today marked the last training session before the team travel to Granada for a tough game at Nuevo Estadio de Los Cármenes.
The biggest update today was that Nacho (shaved head and all!) was out training on the pitch. He trained for half the session on his own, and the other half with the group. Meanwhile Mariano Diaz and Marcelo worked indoors on their own, continuing their recovery sessions. Mariano’s name may be of surprise, but he is suffering from some muscular discomfort. He will not travel to Granada, and has not been included in the match-day squad. Of course, Luka Jovic will also miss the game, and Zidane will only have Karim Benzema as the team’s striker. (That shouldn’t matter too much. Zidane doesn’t like to have like-for-like replacements for Benzema much anyway.)
Today’s training session consisted of two groups working on the same things: possession, rondos, sprint intervals, and long distance running. Zidane concluded the training with passing and shooting drills.
Strong shots
