Luka Modric will turn 35-years-old in a couple months, but his performances post-confiment looked closer to that of a 25-year-old. After celebrating the league title, Modric took to the microphones to speak with Real Madrid TV this morning where he acknowledged his uptick in form.

“I worked very hard during the confinement. This is the fruit of that labor. I am very happy with my performances and the performances of the team,” he told RMTV.

Modric was then quick to dismiss claims of his age being a concern, “I don’t want them to look at my ID, I want them to look at my performances on the field. I don’t like to talk abut age,” he affirmed.

Despite already securing the title, Modric and his teammates want to close out La Liga with another win and focus all their efforts on a remondata vs Manchester City. “The season has been very long, with a lot games, but we have done a great job. This team has shown desire and hunger to win — we want to win again on Sunday. We have what it takes to then go to Manchester and turn the score around. I am sure we will give everything. Now, we have to rest a little bit and then prepare for City, as it will be a very tough game.”

It’s clear that Luka Modric and his teammates still feel they have unfinished business with the Champions League still on the line. Despite winning the title, the team are already focused on the next objective.
