Tonight is a monumental game, but only for Leganes and their fans. Javier Aguirre’s side are trying to avoid relegation and need to beat Real Madrid, who secured their 34th Liga title last Thursday and could make some rotations tonight as they try to keep every player fresh for the tough away game against Manchester City in the return leg of the Champions League Quarterfinals.

Considering the circumstances, Leganes might have a bit of a competitive edge tonight, even if Madrid’s squad is way better. Leganes quite simply have their backs against the wall and it’s clear that they will play with intensity and fire in order to beat Madrid and have a chance to stay in the Primera Division.

This match should give Zidane a fine opportunity to rest his starters and give some of the youngsters relevant minutes. Asensio could be a very valuable asset against Manchester City but will need competitive minutes, so tonight seems the perfect chance for him to start and prove that he’s 100% ready to play in the big stage.
