Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett talked to BBC in an interview and explained the future of his client, stating once again that Bale simply does not want to leave Real Madrid.
“Gareth is fine. He has two years left on his contract. He likes living in Madrid and he is going nowhere. Gareth is not looking to outlast Zinedine Zidane. Mr Zidane has been very successful. There’s no hatred. Mr Zidane just does not want to play him. Gareth trains every day and he trains well,” said Barnett.
The agent then admitted that it will be hard for any club to have interest on the Welshman.
“Of course there’s been interest but there’s hardly a club in the world which can afford him. It’s a great loss that he’s not in the Real Madrid team at the moment but he will not leave,” added Barnett.
A loan deal would be a good option in order for Madrid to move his contract without forcing any other club to spend money on his transfer, but Barnett ruled out that possibility as well.
“Gareth is one of the best players in the world. The best players in the world do not go out on loan,” concluded Barnett.
All things considered, it looks like Real Madrid will simply have to keep Bale around next season, even if it’s only to have him sitting on the bench and earning €20 million/year.
