Add Sevilla and Julen Lopetegui to Takefusa Kubo’s long list of admirers. The Japanese teenager has been linked with moves to Real Sociedad, Real Betis, and AC Milan among others.

According to a report from Edu Pidal and Onda Cero, Lopetegui has Take Kubo at the top of his list for reinforcements ahead of next season. The Andalusian side feel Kubo would fit perfectly into Lopetegui’s system. Given that they will be playing in the Champions League next season, the club would be a major stepping stone for Kubo and he would provide depth for a squad in need of further options within midfield.

The next phase of negotiations would be for the two clubs to agree on the length of the loan deal, the payment that would be made from Sevilla to Madrid for the loan, and to decide if a future purchase option is included— a request from Sevilla. Onda Cero’s report indicates that Kubo and his camp already know that they would be valued under Lopetegui. With so many clubs interested, it would be in both Real Madrid and Kubo’s favor to settle his future as quickly as possible so he can integrate with his new team ahead of next season.
