Getafe have decided to show interest in Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz and Borja Mayoral, according to a report published on AS this weekend. Getafe almost completed a loan deal for Brahim last summer and they were also interested in the talented attacker during the winter transfer window. However, Brahim himself refused to accept those offers and ended up staying with Real Madrid, who will try to convince the player of accepting Getafe’s offer this time.

Borja Mayoral’s situation is different, because Madrid are not interested in a loan deal. Instead, Los Blancos want at least €20 million to let the striker go and Lazio are reportedly offering €15 million, which should be enough to secure the signing of the Spanish striker considering how he’s performed during the last two seasons.

It will be crucial for Madrid to find a quality loan deal for Brahim considering that he’s not been a relevant player for the last two years. He needs minutes to grow and develop as a player and he won’t get those in the current Real Madrid squad, so a loan to Getafe would make a lot of sense given that the player wouldn’t need to adapt to a new league or even a new city.

Brahim has a lot of potential and Madrid can’t afford to have him around wasting yet another year of his development. While it will ultimately be Brahim’s decision, Real Madrid must do everything they can to convince him of accepting a loan deal.
