The mutual admiration between Takefusa Kubo and Sevilla has only intensified since reports first announced of a potential deal. The Japanese midfielder is now closer than ever to making the move to Andalusian side. According to DefensaCentral, Kubo has already given the OK on the move after speaking with Lopetegui and understanding his role for next season.

A report from Barcelona based Mundo Deportivo, now claim that Zidane and Real Madrid have not only given Kubo the green light to move to Sevilla, but prefer he go to a club of Sevilla’s stature in order to prove himself in the Champions League. The French manager would prefer Lopetegui’s Sevilla over other interested clubs like Real Sociedad, Granada, and Real Betis.

The final details of the move are still to be ironed out. Neither Zidane nor Florentino intend to include a future purchase option in the deal despite first the first reports from Onda Cero. Sevilla want to bring Kubo on loan for a minimum of 2 years. Real Madrid would request around €3 million as compensation for the loan from whichever team earns Kubo’s signature for next season.
