Real Madrid are monitoring the progress of Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, according to a report from ESPN’s Rodrigo Faez. Kounde has been a key player for coach Julen Lopetegui this season, becoming a crucial starter for Sevilla and one of the best center-backs in La Liga.
Faez’s report mentions that Kounde’s value is €35 million, which makes his signing for Real Madrid this summer very unlikely, even more so considering that Sevilla spent €27 million to sign him away from Girondins just a year ago.
Real Madrid know that they will eventually have to add some more depth to that position because of Ramos’ age. The defender is still a key player for Madrid but is 34 years old, meaning that Los Blancos will need to add a fourth defender in a short period of time assuming Militao becomes a starter when Ramos isn’t capable of playing regularly.
Kounde, who is still 21 years old, could be a very interesting addition, but his stock is expected to grow during the 2020-2021, which might very well make him a very expensive signing a year from now.
