Former Real Madrid right-back Achraf Hakimi completed his €40 million move to Inter Milan this Thursday, ending his career in the club after a two-year loan spell with Borussia Dortmund.
Achraf published an emotional letter for the club and its fans on his social media.

“I never thought this moment would come. It’s not good-bye because you never say good-bye to your home, you might go far from it but it will always be the place where I found happiness and the values that made me grow.
Real Madrid is my home, I was raised, spoiled and educated there to be the person I am today. Real Madrid is not only about developing athletes. I entered the doors at Valdebebas being a six-year old and definitely I could never imagine how happy I was going to be there.
I want to thank every one of the club workers, my coaches and all my teammates —most of them truly friends— that made this journey alongside me.
Last, I also want to thank the madridistas that supported me and that will keep supporting the club every single time. I will now be one of them.
Thanks a lot Real Madrid!”
It’s definitely sad to see a player of Achraf’s caliber leaving the club. It will surely be interesting to see him thrive for Inter.
