OFFICIAL: Dani Gomez sold to Levante

The striker joins Jorge De Frutos at Levante in a move that is expected to bring in €2.5 million

After speculation earlier in the week, both Jorge De Frutos and Dani Gomez have been sold to Levante. Dani Gomez was on loan last season with Tenerife in the Segunda division where he scored 11 goals and provided 2 assists. He will now look to fill the void left by Borja Mayoral — the former Madrid loanee who is also expected to depart the club this summer.

In a post on a social media, Dani Gomez bid farewell to Real Madrid, the club that helped him form as both a person and a professional:

“Hello eveyone,

It has been eight years since I first had the chance to wear this badge. From the first moment, I understood the magnitude of the club. Now, our paths separate, but I only have words of gratitude for the values that have been instilled in me and the moments that I have lived. It will, and always has been, a true honor for me. I wish you all the best and the greatest of success. Thank you.

- Dani Gomez”

The figure for the sale is expected to be around €2.5 million with Madrid retaining 50% of the players’ rights. Levante and the first division will be an important next step for the U21 Spain international.
