According to a report from El Chiringuito, Luka Jovic has tested negative for the Coronavirus, but is self-isolating at home as a precaution after coming in contact with a friend who recently tested positive for COVID19.
Unfortunately this is not the first time that Luka Jovic makes headlines for the wrong reasons. During the lock-down period, Jovic traveled back to Serbia and left the stay-at-home protocols to celebrate his girlfriend's birthday at a night club. Just a month or so later, when the squad was set to return to training, Jovic was unable to join the group as he had injured himself while training at home.
Luck has certainly not been on the Serbian’s side since joining Real Madrid as controversy has marred his season and the meager 2 goals represents a shadow of the player that was playing for Eintracht Frankfurt last season.
It’s unclear how long Jovic will need to self-isolate at home, but it likely rules out his involvement in the Alaves game — a team where he could have received important minutes considering they have lost 6 of their 7 matches since the return of the break.
