Real Madrid and Lazio are very close to reaching an agreement for striker Borja Mayoral, who would join the Italian side for €20 million, according to a report from MARCA. Mayoral has not been a relevant player for the last two or three seasons, so getting that kind of fee for him in this current context would be great business from Los Blancos.

Mayoral has shown potential to be a solid second striker capable of creating chances for his teammates, but at the same time his contract with Madrid expires in just a single year.

The Spanish attacker was a very promising talent out of La Fabrica, but failed to reach his ceiling after a wasted season on loan with Wolfsburg and his last two years with Levante, where he’s been decent but not great.

Ultimately, Mayoral is still a young player who could progress and develop, that being the reason why Lazio are making that kind of investment, but Madrid would struck gold if they finally find this kind of deal for him.
