Kubo will not only remain in Spain’s top flight, but he will now have the opportunity to test himself in Europe after the yellow submarine qualified for the Europa League last season. Emery and European competitions were both crucial to Kubo’s decision as he had half of Europe after his signature. All of Granada, Sevilla, Real Betis, Bayern Munich, and Ajax had shown genuine interest in Real Madrid’s talented youngster.
Reports have been circulating that Villarreal have also secured the signatures of Dani Parejo and Francis Coquelin from Valencia. If so, Emery's team will be formidable next season and may challenge for a Champions League position. The team will consist of players like Gerard Moreno, Paco Alcacer, Samu Chukwueze, Ontiveros, Parejo, Coquelin, and Pau Torres among others. Needless to say, it will be a step up in quality for young Kubo and his attacking characteristics should be better complimented this upcoming season.
We will be tracking Kubo’s progression all season long on the Loan Tracker podcast - strap in, as it will be a fun one!
