Miguel Baeza is a talented midfield player with the ability to play as a central attacking midfielder, a left winger, and even as a right winger. The 20-year-old is now on the verge of a move to Celta Vigo in a €3 million transfer where Real Madrid would retain 50% of his rights, according to Sergio Valentin of Libertad Digital and esRadio.
Baeza has formed as part of the Real Madrid academy since he was 12-years-old. He has worked his way up all the youth levels and has had the opportunity to train with Zidane and the first team in the past. The club hold the player in high esteem and a move to the first division with Celta is a level that many feel he is prepared for given his performances last season. By retaining 50% of his rights, Real Madrid in essence hold a first right of refusal over the player and would have leverage if they ever wish to recoup his services.
It will be a blow for Castilla manager Raul Gonzalez, who may have been looking to count on one of his best players for the upcoming season. But, the club have prioritized sales in the aftermath of COVID19 and that includes the top prospects on loan and in Castilla.
