Reinier Jesus has verbally agreed to join Borussia Dortmund on loan next season, according to Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade of GOAL Brazil.

Zidane and the club have approved of the move, with both institutions maintaining good relations after the success of Achraf Hakimi’s two-year loan spell. A similar formula may be used with Reinier Jesus, who will sign on a one year agreement, but will have the option to extend for a second season. Real Madrid believe that at 18-years-old, Reinier will improve his tactical understanding of the game with Lucien Favre. Borussia Dortmund have always given given amble opportunities to young players and Reinier will be no different. Madrid also find the move favorable as it will give Reinier Jesus the opportunity to play in the Champions League.

Andrade had initially identified Bayer Leverkusen as favorites for Reinier Jesus’ signature, but talks had cooled down with negotiations over Kai Havertz also stalling. Dortmund entered the picture and expressed a strong desire to attain Reinier for next season. Real Valladolid was another club interested in securing Reinier’s services, but it seems Dortmund have beat out all the competition.
