Sergio Reguilon and Sevilla have once again produced in the Europa League. The Andalusian side have qualified for the Europa League final after beating Manchester United 2-1. Just days ago, it was a brilliant solo goal vs Roma which had Reguilon drawing praise. In an even bigger test, Reguilon was able to provide a low driven pass across goal for Suso to tap home and equalize early in the first half of the quarterfinal vs Manchester United. The most successful club in Europa League history will compete for it’s sixth title on Friday.

Reguilon was brilliant all throughout the match. The left back grabbed his assist with a trademark under-lapping run. Avid followers of Sevilla and Reguilon will be very familiar with Regui’s off the ball movement, the under-lap is a run he has mastered this year with Sevilla.

On the defensive side of the ball, Reguilon had to deal with the threat of young Mason Greenwood and the overlapping runs of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, both of which he kept quiet. Reguilon’s passion was evident in the dying minutes of the game when he celebrated the ball going out for a goal kick after shielding Greenwood from the interception. It was akin to Marcelo’s battle-cry vs Barcelona or Bayern Munich.

Reguilon’s game by the numbers:

Assist: 1

Touches: 74

Passes: 50 (84% PA)

Tackles: 2

Blocked Shots: 2

Interceptions: 2

Reguilon has many admirers across Europe — Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton, and Napoli among the most interested. Real Madrid are believed to be open to cashing in on the left-back with a mere €20-25 million enough to secure his services.
