Real Madrid and Granada are close to reaching an agreement to extend Jesus Vallejo’s loan deal for the 2020-2021 season, according to a report from MARCA. The Spanish defender played regularly during the second half of the 2019-2020 season and will try to keep getting relevant minutes for a quality club like Granada in the upcoming campaign.
Real Madrid tried to sell at least part of Vallejo’s rights to Granada but ultimately were forced to accept a regular loan deal, which means that Vallejo should return to the Spanish capital in the summer of 2021, no matter how well he fares next season.
While Madrid tried to cash in some money for Vallejo, he keeps being an intriguing prospect, so if the Spanish defender manages to perform well for Granada —who will compete in the Europa League— he might have a shot at being Madrid’s fourth center-back in the 2021-2022 season.
The deal between Granada and Real Madrid is expected to be announced soon.
