It’s official. Jesus Vallejo will play the 2020-2021 season for Granada on a loan deal. Vallejo returns to the team where he played and completed some encouraging performances in the second half of the 2019-2020 season.
“Granada and Real Madrid have agreed to extend Jesus Vallejo’s loan deal in the Andalusian club for one season, until June 30th of 2021. Vallejo joined the club during the winter transfer market last season. He featured in 14 games and played 881 minutes.”

Vallejo is 23 years old and still has potential, even if his previous loan deals were discouraging. The defender has room for improvement and will get better with experience, which he will get next season in Granada playing in the UEFA Europa League. If he can actually find his groove and gain some confidence, Vallejo might have a chance to stay with Real Madrid for the 2021-2022 season as a backup defender.
