Toni Kroos has a podcast called “Einfach mal Luppen”. On his latest episode, where he talks with his brother Felix, the two discussed Barcelona’s 8 - 2 loss to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

“You shouldn’t show everything,” Toni Kroos said of Real Madrid’s Whatsapp group chat during Barcelona’s humiliating collapse at the hands of Bayern. “But you can imagine that there was no grief. There was already one or two (messages with) malicious joy in it.“

Kroos also applauded Bayern who he feels are the favourites to win the competition now, and said he sent a text message to Joshua Kimmich about Bayern’s run. The text to Kimmich read: “I thought it was a great achievement for us to become champions. But you’re currently devaluing that with your game, ”

Lastly, Kroos was asked if he had “digested” Real Madrid’s loss to Manchester City, to which he replied: “Yes absolutely. But that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t continue to annoy me. Real Madrid belong further than in the round of 16. That is also how I see myself,”
