Zinedine Zidane took a small break from his vacation to be present at the opening of his newest project, “Zidane Five Club”. It is an educational, social, and sporting project near Marseille, France which focuses on 5v5 football on a hard rubber-like surface. At the event, Zidane fielded some questions from reporters and discussed the immense pride he felt in reconquering La Liga with Real Madrid.

“The objectives are always the same, every year, you have to win everything. But it is true that because we have not won the league for a number of years, we had placed this title as a very high objective,” Zidane revealed.

“After confinement, without knowing if we could play again — we returned to the league, finished it, and won it. It was the best day for me. One of the best days of my life. Even if we want to say that the Champions League is the best or more, and although it is magnificent, I do not want to compare. When we won this league it was really the best day of my professional life. It was very difficult to win it,” Zidane explained.

The Real Madrid manager had said something similar after the La Liga title triumph in 2017. It’s clear that the Frenchman finds the league rewarding as it is the ultimate gift after a year of work — a year of analyzing, training, and managing. Zidane will be looking to get the team in the right mindset again for the upcoming season as La Liga returns at the end of September. The Real Madrid squad are due to return home for preseason around August 31st.
