Real Madrid will have a rather short plan in preparation for next season, according to a new article from Marca.

The club will be backing in training at the end of this month. The players will go through another round of coronavirus testing before returning on August 29.

As the article says, there are no international friendlies for Real Madrid to take part in this brief offseason because of the pandemic. Fans will still not be allowed in attendance this season. Los Blancos will continue play at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano while construction at the Bernabéu is ongoing.

So unless something changes, Real Madrid will not be getting any match time prior to their first match of the actual season. The Champions League second leg match against Manchester City will be the last full match they have played.

While the club as a whole may not be participating in any simulation matches in preparation for the upcoming season, at least one player will be. Luka Modrić has been called up by the Croatian national team for both of their UEFA Nations League matches.

He will be captaining the Vatreni in their matches against Portugal and France on September 5 and 8. It’s a good chance for him to represent his country while also getting some minutes prior to La Liga starting if he is played.

La Liga is set to restart on September 12. Real Madrid will not be playing until the second week of the season because of their participation in the Champions League. The club will be taking on Getafe.
