Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon will start for Sevilla in the upcoming UEFA Europa League Final against Inter Milan. The Spanish left-back has been an instrumental player for Sevilla this season and he’s been making even a bigger impact after the quarantine. Madrid are planning to sell him for around €20 million though, according to the Spanish press.
Reguilon talked to Muchodeporte in an interview and explained that he doesn’t know anything about his future even if the 2020-2021 Liga season is expected to start in just one month.
“I don’t even know where I will play next season, I have no idea. We have to consider everything on our table,” said Reguilon, whose loan deal in Sevilla will expire after the Europa League Final.
The young left-back explained what makes him one of the most intriguing defenders in La Liga.
“I try to do my best. My speed and pace I think is my best skill. During every season there are different moments and right now it’s clear that things are going well for me, hopefully that continues in the Final,” he said.
Real Madrid could need Reguilon as soon as the 2021-2022 season because Marcelo’s contract with the club expires next summer. In that context, Reguilon would be the perfect player to compete with Mendy for a spot in the starting XI, but it definitely seems that Los Blancos have other plans for that position as they try to sell some players and cash in some money this summer.
