Real Madrid striker Borja Mayoral was reportedly close to completing a move to Lazio for €20 million but now it seems that Valencia are also interested in his signing, according to reports from MARCA and local newspaper Superdeporte.
However, Valencia just can’t afford that kind of fee and would be offering a significantly smaller fee for just 50% of Mayoral’s rights, which is not what Real Madrid want at the moment as they try to cash in some money this summer.
Madrid are not interested in keeping Borja Mayoral for the long term and therefore would rather sell the striker permanently. The potential agreement with Lazio seems to have stalled right now and Real Madrid need to get busy if they truly want to make money for this transfer, given that most leagues will start in around a month and therefore all clubs will try to complete their squads before that date.
