Real Madrid have already started negotiating contract extensions for Sergio Ramos, Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez, whose deals all expire in 2021. That’s according to a report from Tomas Gonzalez Martin, reporter from Spanish newspaper ABC.
While Madrid appeared ready to let Modric and Vazquez’s contracts expire and part ways with them while securing at least one more year for Ramos, it now seems that Los Blancos want to keep all three players at the club. Ramos could be getting a two-year extension after his great performances to end the 2019-2020 season even if Madrid tend to go year by year with older players.
Vazquez’s contract extension is a bit of a mystery considering that he is not expected to be a relevant player in the upcoming seasons, even more so if Marco Asensio, Rodrygo and Vinicius keep making progress. Furthermore, some reports suggested that Madrid could be trying to sell Vazquez this summer, so seeing the club extending his contract would be surprising.
